Sandra K. Kuntz
After 20 years of practicing and managing a large firm, Sandra K. Kuntz established Legal Edge Solutions, PLLC, in 2012, as the first dedicated conflict resolution center in southwest North Dakota.
Ms. Kuntz graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Dakota with a B.S. degree in public administration and received her J.D. degree, with distinction, from UND School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in the States of North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana. She has focused her career continuing to provide legal services in the areas of family law, estate planning, real estate, oil and gas, and also currently serves the cities of Medora and Belfield as their municipal attorney. Ms. Kuntz is a qualified neutral for family law, oil and gas, and civil mediation, as well as a certified guardian ad litem, parenting investigator, and parent coordinator. Since she began her career in 1994, Sandra has and continues to serve as a mentor and faculty for multiple Family Law and ADR conferences, and currently serves on the North Dakota Disciplinary Board.
Her philanthropy interests have driven her to setup and work with several non-profit organizations covering such areas as assisting wounded veterans, thoroughbred rescue and adoption, youth rodeo, and the county fair association.
When work doesn’t interfere with her fun, Sandra enjoys spending time with her family, training horses, gardening, fishing, hunting, and working with kids as a 4H leader.

Melissa is a Paralegal and Certified Succession Planner at Legal Edge. She is a Dickinson native, graduating from Dickinson High School in 2002. She attended the University of North Dakota where she earned her degrees, a B.A. in Sociology and a B.S. in Criminal Justice. Upon graduation in 2007, Melissa moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, to work with the Office of the District Attorney, 8th Judicial District, and developed extensive experience in criminal law. Upon returning to the Dickinson area, Melissa joined Mackoff Kellogg law firm as a paralegal, broadening her experience to the areas of Probate law, Estate Planning, Corporate Law/Business set-up, and Litigation practice. Melissa’s education and 10 years of experience in the legal field make her an invaluable asset in managing the criminal and civil work for the Cities of Belfield and Medora. In 2015, Melissa mastered another challenge and became an International Farm Transition Network Certified Farm Succession Planner. She works closely with clients through business, farm, and ranch succession planning strategies and assists with all areas of estate planning and the probate process.
Melissa is a strong believer in community involvement and supporter of many worthwhile causes. Melissa maintains a strong presence and leadership role at UND as the Ritual Fraternity Appreciation Advisor for the Alpha Pi Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. As an active member of the Board of Directors for the North Dakota Cutting Horse Association, Melissa volunteers her time to train high school rodeo youth. She also manages a ranch, raising cutting horses which she competitively shows at regional events with a plan for a national futurity prospect in the near future. In her spare time, Melissa is an avid concert goer, and returns to Colorado as often as she can for a Rockies, Avs, or Broncos game.
Gina Powers Barnes
Gina joined LES as a legal assistant in 2016 bringing a strong business experience to the domestic practice. Gina is from Bangs, Texas, and studied at Southwest Texas State. Prior work experience in accounts receivables and accounting from her employment in the oilfield and construction industries brings efficiency and a good work product to our clients.
Gina enjoys spending her free time with friends and family. She is an avid adventurer, frequently traveling and sightseeing wherever her curiosity takes her.
